Wanda Purvis

Wanda Fay Purvis, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 22, 2014.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Minton Memorial Chapel under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to the American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12A, Lubbock, Texas, 79424 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Wanda was born May 7, 1927 in Oklahoma to Memory Obie and Floy Mae Harkins. She was a member of Cadet Nursing Company and was a CNRA and RN for North Plains, Highland General Hospital and St. Anthonys Hospital. Wanda was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Altrusa, Literary Council and Order of the Eastern Star 1242 Mason. She enjoyed reading, traveling all over Europe, Alaska and Canada. Wanda loved to help people and had the joy of teaching several people English.

She is preceded in death by her parents her first husband, William D. Owen, Sr. husband, McNeal Purvis and grandsons, Todd and Mark Purvis.

Survivors include her son, William Bill Owen, Jr. and wife, Dorothy of Borger sister, Jackie Ruth Anderson of Lubbock grandchildren, Jason Blaine Owen and wife, Cami of Amarillo, Erica Kimble and husband, Justin of Dallas great granddaughters, Abbi Owen, Charlotte and Benjamin Kimble and her caregiver, Silvia Hernandez.
