Truman Wayne Hamby, 74, died Monday, November 28, 2011 in Amarillo.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Broadway Baptist church in Fritch, with Rev. Bill Browning officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Love, at Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Wayne Hamby was born February 4, 1937 in Annestine, Alabama to William Truman and Lillian Vera Hamby. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Wayne married Colleen Stofferson February 25, 1974 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They lived in Fritch until August of 2000, and then moved to Amarillo. Wayne was a Baptist, a carpenter, and a truck driver for Phillips Petroleum, where he retired. He loved studying the bible, family, helping others, kids, and watching Fox news.

Survivors include three sons James Hamby of Pampa, Ronald Hamby of Amarillo, and Donny Stanzyk of Waterloo, Iowa five daughters Donna Faye Lowrance of Pampa, Debbie Gray of Panhandle, Dorothea Cooper of McLean, Cheri Eicher of Weldona, Colorado, and Sandra Stokes of Amarillo four brothers Bill Hamby of Petrolia, Dude Hamby of Miami, Buddy Hamby of Amarillo, and Jerry Hamby of Wellington 26 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife Colleen March 20, 2011, three daughters Candiece Stanzyk, Rebeka Born, Jennifer Hamby, and a sister, Lorraine Foster.
