Weldon Haynes

W. C. Bud Haynes, 83, died Monday, June 6, 2011 in Borger.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Haynes was born on July 16, 1928 in Shamrock, Texas and had been a Borger resident for 70 years. He was coowner of R R Sheet Metal. He married Joyce Shelton on March 31, 1947 in Clovis, NM, and she preceded him in death on April 23, 2010. He was a staff sergeant in the US Army, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved outdoor sports.

He is survived by his daughter Carmen Shopteese of Borger, brother R.E. Haynes, Jr. and wife Liz of Borger, sister Judy Browning husband Bill of Midland, three grandchildren Eric Shopteese and wife Leigh, Brandon Shopteese, Amber Shopteese Humphrey and husband Eric, and six greatgrandchildren Chase, Alex, Star, Tyler, Shylah Stormy.
