Wiley G. Price, 92, died Thursday December 16 in Borger, funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Fritch with Pastor Calvin Winters officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Wiley Greenwood Price was born April 4, 1918 at Eolian, Texas in Stephens County to Newton Greenwood Price and Odessa Toland Price. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Mae Taylor Price on October 20, 1990 they married June 12, 1954. He married Dorothy E. Scarborough January 27, 1996.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, 4 Daughters Barbara Njos and husband Maynard of Apache Junction, AZ, Carol Cantrell and husband Kevin of Amarillo, Mary Dean and Ricky of Borger and Linda Loyd and husband David of Austin, TX, 1 brother Bill Price of Ft. Worth, TX and 1 Sister Frances Gardner of Sudan, TX, 9 Grandchildren Mike Kummer, Brent Kummer, Nicholas Dean, Brianna Ibarra, Brian Cantrell, Kristen Loyd, Jaylon Loyd and Ashley Standiford, Shelli Sellers and 10 GreatGrandchildren.

Wiley attended schools at Eolian and Breckenridge in Texas and graduated as Salutatorian from Breckenridge High School in 1934. He was a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church, Isom Masonic Lodge 1242 AF and AM in Borger. Wiley was a member of the Hutchinson County Historical Committee and was on the Board of Directors of the Hutchinson County Museum where he built many of the miniature scenes at the museum. Wiley also built the miniature Weatherly Dugout displayed at Frank Phillips College. He worked in the shipyards at Mare Island as a ship fitter during WWII building and repairing submarines and ships and retired from a sales position for B J Well Servicing Chemical Processes.

His paternal grandfather was Theodore M. Price who was born in 1835 at Baltimore, MD and came to Texas in 1849 or 1850 moving to Eolin, TX in 1869. He was ordained as a Methodist Lay Preacher in 1857. He died in 1927 and was buried at Plum Creek Cemetery near Eolin, TX.
