William Bruce Browning

William “Bill” Browning, 77, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Bill was born February 17, 1947, in Eleanor, West Virginia to A.B. Browning and Helen Lyons Browning. He married Patricia Ann Browning on October 5, 1968, in Riverview Baptist Church. Bill was the Pastor of Broadway Baptist Church in Fritch; he served the Lord with a happy heart from the pulpit for over 35 years. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, was a gifted wood worker, and loved JESUS. Bill proudly served in the United States Army. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Helen Browning; wife, Patricia; son, Mark; daughter, Marcy; brother, Steve Browning; sister, Sharon Browning; and son-in-law, Charles Mobley. 

Survivors include daughter, Melanie Mobley of Borger; granddaughters, Sara Patterson and husband Anthony, Hannah Barnett, Megan Oakley; great grandson, Carter; sisters, Brenda Smith and husband Dave, Sandy Nicholson and husband Rod all of West Virginia; brothers, David Browning, Paul Browning and wife Dena of all West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
