William Albert Pete Ford died Sunday, November 5, 2006 in Amarillo. Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Gillmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Devotion at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Pete was born March 24, 1927 in Fox, Oklahoma to Aubrey and Mable Ford. He has lived in the Borger Area for the past 70 years and was a Stillman for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 38 of those years. Pete was also known as Fixit because he operated a Fix It shop for many years, repairing almost anything. He served his country in the U. S. Army 7th Division 32nd Infantry during WW II and will be honored with Military Honors at the Cemetery.
Pete married the former Frances Blankenship on September 20, 1947 in Borger and they celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary this year.
He is survived by his wife Frances, 4 Daughters - Sharon Byrd of Borger, Gail Sable and husband Randy of Amarillo, Janet Bauert and husband Ken of Sanford and Karen Lemley and husband Ben of Amarillo, his sister Helen Buehler of Murray, Utah and 12 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Mable Ford, his sister Inez Britten in 2004 and his granddaughter Adisynne Michelle Spencer who died just hours after Pete.
Casket Bearers will be his grandsons - Larry Keith Byrd, Kelly Byrd, Cody Byrd, Michael Sable, Tony Sable, Kenny Bauert, Corwin Lemley, Conner Lemley, Chris Lemley, Adam Crump and Jason Bethel.
