Fritch
Funeral services for William Fred Houston, 88, of Fritch will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Fritch with Chaplain Max Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Devotion under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Mr. Houston was a resident of Fritch for the past 50 years and a member of 1st Baptist Church. He married Neva Nay on August 12, 1952 in Clovis, NM. He served during World War II in the U. S. Navy Seabees where he was a 2nd class Petty Officer. He loved fishing, watching baseball and his grandkids.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife Neva September 30, 2009 and a son Ben Hastings in 2008.
Survivors include 2 daughters Frances Taylor and husband Vernon of Borger and Jane Bryan and husband Mike of Fritch and a daughter in law June Hastings of Abilene, his brother Gene Houston of Troy, TX, 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Elvin Houston, Tony Bryan, Randy Bryan, Rocky Hastings, Ben Garza and Steven Scrivener.
Family will be at 204 Lariat in Fritch,
