William Kirkland, Jr.

Funeral services for William J. Kirkland, Jr., 79, of Fritch will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Richard Kasko, Minister of the Fritch Church of Christ officiating.. Interment will follow at Panhandle Cemetery. Honorary casketbearers will be Albert Stegall, Garland Kite, L.J. Sells, Clarence McGehee, and Roy Hudson.

Mr. Kirkland was a longtime resident of the Borger area, living in Fritch for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger, and retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. as a mechanic. He married Fawnie Marie Nash October 4, 1946 at Phillips, Tx, she preceded him in death in 1999.
Survivors include his three sons, James Bryan Kirkland and his wife Linda of Mt. Pleasant, Richard Allen Kirkland and his wife Rogenna of Amarillo, and David Dewayne Kirkland and his wife Lori of Belton, MO. His brother Norman Kirkland of Sand Springs, OK and his sister Clara Saunders of El Cajon, CA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Colby Kirkland and wife Angela, Christy Kirkland, Tonja King and husband David, Ty, Aaron and Scott Kirkland and 4 Great-Grandchildren Colton, Caylea, Trent and Tayte.
