William Lewis

Funeral services for William Hershel Lewis, 89, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Nathan Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Hershel was born November 3, 1920 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and lived in this
area since 1945. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. He loved to
visit, family gatherings, sports, and the Lord. He was a carpenter for Phillips Petroleum Company for 35 years, and a Veteran of WW II in the US Navy where he was a fireman first class. Hershel married Esther Bonnie Fogel June 20, 1941 in Springer, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents Johnnie Calvin and Mary Martha Lewis, a
son David Glenn Lewis, his brother Thurman Lewis and 4 Sisters Mae Fountain,
Opal Johnson, Dovie Calley and Alma Ree Warren.

He is survived by his wife Esther, his son Larry Lewis and wife Gail of Borger,
2 Brothers John C. Lewis and wife Nettie of Sweeney, TX and Wilburn Lewis and
wife Sharon of Graham, OK, his sister Katy Snider and husband Lee Roy of Borger,
3 Grandchildren Matt Lewis of Dallas, Clay Lewis and wife Lisa of Austin and
Lauren Lewis of Houston, 3 GreatGrandchildren Abby, Owen and Tatum.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bostick, Lee Snider, Abbe Honaker, J. C.
Prince, Dean Meyers, Bill Bailey and Alan Snider.
