William Mcleod

William Henry Mac McLeod, 94, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 in Amarillo, Texas.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle with Dr. Jim Howard and Mr. Cole Goldsmith, officiating. Interment will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mr. McLeod was born on December 30, 1912 in Pontotoc, Texas. He had been a Panhandle resident for 65 years. He retired in 1973 as an operator for Phillips Copoly Plant. He married Beulah Faye Holloway on January 9, 1934 in Valley Springs, Texas. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle.

Mac loved all sports, especially baseball and he loved gospel music. He was an avid reader. He excelled in the knowledge of Texas and American history.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Cercy Carrauth McLeod, his wife, Beulah on December 26, 2002 and one grandson, Scott Curtis.

He is survived by one son, Bill McLeod of Panhandle, TX., one daughter, Mary Curtis of Panhandle, four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

His casket bearers will be Jimmy Don Mitchell, Bruce Curtis, Delton D. Smith, Trent Curtis, Kevin Powers, Mark Prickett, Lewis Powers and Jeff Bogner.

Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 803 Maple St., Panhandle, Texas 79068 or to your favorite charity.
