Graveside services for William E. Bill Medler, 94, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Memorial Park and Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. at Park Place Towers Parlor with Chaplain Alan Williamson, Park Place and Dr. Roy Wheeler of Hillside Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Medler was a resident of Borger from 1945 until moving to Amarillo in 1985 where he resided until his death. Bill served in World War II under General George Patton in the 3rd Army as a Tech 5 in the U. S. Army in the European Theater. He was a safety engineer for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 37 years until retirement. Bill was a member of Hillside Christian Church and was a charter member of Bunavista Methodist Church in Borger. He had been a member of the Borger Lions Club and he loved bowling, golf and bridge. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and his wife Edna in 1980.
Survivors include 3 daughters Merry Hodgkiss and husband John of Irving, TX, Karla Jenkins and husband Allen of Borger and Georgia Medler and husband David Lovelace of Georgetown, TX, he was lovingly known a Pa-Paw to his grandchildren Traci Johnson, Jacki Smith, Jennifer Towery, Melissa Jenkins and Greg Jenkins and his 10 Great-Grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ware Memorial Care Center and BSA Hospice for their loving care and support during his stay.
