William Pool, Sr.

William "Bill" Chandler Pool, Sr., 87, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, February 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Morse with Rev. Gary Stevens and Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Lieb Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Lieb Cemetery, 11547 County Road 13, Stinnett, TX 79083; or Morse Community Building, P.O. Box 114, Morse, TX 79062.

Bill was born March 4, 1930 in Hamilton County, Texas to John C. Pool and Bessie Smart Pool. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morse and a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by his father, John C. Pool; mother, Bessie Smart Shelby; and a son, Bobby G. Pool.

Survivors include his wife Beverly of Amarillo; sons, William C. Pool, Jr. of Amarillo, Danny A. Pool and wife Paula of Odessa, Buddy W. Pool of Amarillo; daughters, Janice R. Pool of Denver City, Texas, Janet L. Wilson and husband Robin of Morse; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Pool of Frederick, Oklahoma; sister, Louise Creekmore of Dallas; and sister-in-law, Joyce Pool of Amarillo.
