William Benjamin Ross, 76, went to be with his Lord on August 27, 2010, after a long illness.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1st, at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Riley of Monterey Baptist Church of Lubbock officiating and Pastor Rick Nichols of Central Baptist assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Ross was born on August 22, 1934 in Delaware County, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Colesburg, Iowa and enlisted in the US Air Force where he served from September, 1952 until September 1956. After the service, he enrolled in Northrop Aeronautical School of California, receiving a degree in Aircraft Jet Engine Mechanics. He retired as foreman for Ozark Airlines in Chicago, Illinois in 1986 after 24 years. He married Monnie Garrison on May 11, 2002 in Borger. He could work on anything mechanical and loved country and western music and southern gospel. He enjoyed reading the news and watching it on TV. He loved time with his family and traveling. He attended Central Baptist church and leaves behind many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Pearl Ross.
He is survived by his wife Monnie Curly Ross of the home, Two sons Bruce Ross and wife Betty of Hoffman Estates, IL, Michael Ross and wife Cassie of Victor, NY, daughter Kathy Walther and husband Hugh of Springdale, AK, two stepdaughters Rhonda Register and husband George of Ocala, FL, Nickie Schroeder and husband David of Borger, two sisters Joyce Engkelken of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Hagensick of Edgewood, Iowa, four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, three stepgreatgrandchildren.
