Wilma Rose

Wilma Rose of Amarillo, Texas formerly of Borger and Fritch, Texas left this earth and climbed the golden stairs to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey, officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the funeral home in Fritch.

Wilma was born to Amos and Lela Maxwell Rhodes on March 14, 1935 in Cottle County, Texas. She moved with her family to Childress, Texas in 1946. She married Harry Dana Rose Jr., March 31, 1951 in Childress. He preceded her in death July 21, 2005. She is also preceded in death by a son, Larry Joe Rose on December 24, 1970; her parents; five brothers and six sisters.

Wilma was a talented seamstress and loved sewing pretty things and clothes for her children and grandchildren. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them all.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Green and husband Warren of Amarillo; son, Markle Rose and wife Teresa of Fritch; four grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; twenty-four step great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
