Carl Taylor

The Reflections of His Life

Carl Taylor was born on January 27, 1952 to Bessie Mae Tillman and Lee Taylor, Jr.  Carl stepped out of time into eternity on December 19, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers JP Tillman, AC Tillman and Willie Tillman; and sister, Diane Burns.

Carl attended schools in Borger where he excelled in basketball and still holds records at Borger High School to this day.  He had many honors including All American.  He received Salvation and his call to preach in 1989.  He was on fire for the Lord and preached wherever God's calling led him to go. Carl was hungry and determined for a deeper relationship with God.  He sat under anointed and dedicated men and women of God. Carl was the pastor of the Borger Christian Center for several years to the present time.  He loved to fish, play and coach basketball, camping and preaching God's Word. He loved his family, his church family and community.

Carl is survived by his wife of forty nine years Cookie Taylor, his two sons Semaj Sims of Borger and Sheldon Taylor of Wills Point, TX, his two daughters LaShana Taylor of Borger and Lexi Taylor of Wills Point, TX, Linda Heyward of Temecula, CA, Becky Hernandez Tnash of Las Vegas and Irene Taylor of Arizona, his two brothers Rodrick Taylor of California and Tracy Taylor of Canada, he was the favorite uncle of a host of Neices and Nephews.

Carl leaves a legacy of love and faith for friends to share for a lifetime.  In essence, Carl Taylor understood his assignment of encouragement and love and judging from his fruit his Father in Heaven is well pleased.

A Celebration of His Life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday December 29, 2021 at the Unity Baptist Church on 10th Street.  Cremation and services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The family will be receiving friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the funeral home.
